All of the research about the Cydonia Mensae  is based on pictures taken
    by Viking 1 while orbiting around Mars.All the explanations that I will
    give are speculations based on these pictures,their processing,some
    simple geometrics and your willingnes to accept that what we see actually
    exists.

The primary goal of the two Viking spacecrafts was to orbit around Mars
    provide us with pictures of the surface and to send their lander units
    to the surface in order to get information about the atmosphere soil and
    possibility of life development.
    The two crafts worked perfectly in taking pictures and then sending
    their landers to the surface,yet Viking 1 sent us a surprise we didn't
    expect-two frames of the northern hemisphere of an area called "Cydonia
    Mensae".In these frames we can view a few objects which are
    inconssistent with the Martian geology and landscape:A 2Km knob which
    resembles a human face to it's south a large Pyramid (1Km at hegiht and
    3Km at length)and to the east of the Face a full complex of pyramids.
    Before we go into further detail on the unusual complex on the Mars
    surface a question comes to mind:Why wasn't one of the lander units sent
    to the area to obtain more information-or pherhaps it was?

 
Mars


Mars,the red forbiding planet was seen by people from the beggining of
    civilization,the Romans gave it it's name to honor their God of war
    while the ancient Egyptians named the planet"the red one". Mars,before
    space exploration,was one of the best candidates in our universe to
    harbour life since it is covered with networks of lines which seemed to
    be artificial irrigation lines.

    The beleife was so common that in 1938 when Orson Welles broadcasted the
    radio drama based on the classic "War of the worlds" by H.G. Welss
    enough people beleived the tale of invading Martians to cause a near
    panic.
    This beleife was crushed by disappointment when in July 1965,Mariner 4,
    transmitted 22 close-up pictures of Mars.These pictures revealed no
    artificial irrigation lines,signs of life or any flowing water but a
    natural surface which contained channels and many craters.
    The real breakthrough in the research of Mars came when the Viking
    landers hit the surface of Mars tested the Mars atmosphere.
    The atmosphere is different from the Earths atmosphere yet it seems that
    once Mars had a much denser atmosphere and this may have allowed water
    to flow and so the networks of great rivers,shorelines,riverbeds and
    islands were created.
    The temperature on Mars is at an avarege of -60C yet it raises to the
    maximum of 20C and goes as low as -140C,Mars just as Earth is a
    seasonal planet.

    


This is the area we call "Cydonia Mensae",as you can see I have marked the
    unusual landscapes,we will take each one and look at it closely.


 
While looking at this picture I will give you the approximate dimensions of
    this knob-2Km long and about 500m high.This knob was found in the
    northern hemisphere of Mars at the boundary between the basin of Acidalia
    Planita and the higher ground of Cydonia Mensae.The object's resemblance
    to a face was noticed by NASA personnel at the Jet Propulsion
    Laboratory,who displayed it at a press conference.The Face was dissmised
    by Nasa as a trick of light and shadow.The Face was rediscovered by two
    scientists from the Goddard Space Flight Center who unexpectedly found
    another frame of the picture when the sun is at a different angle.When we
    put the first and second pictures together we can see bilateral
    symmetry,detail resembling eyes nose and a mouth.
    This symmetry rules out almost every possibility that this should be an 
    object created by nature.

The second unusual landscape that was discovered was the "City",eastward of
    the face we acn see a large complex of what seems like 5-7 small
    pyramdis in the center,the city square,has four dots(maybe small
    building that form a shape of a diamond.We can see a few more of these
    dots which are conssistent but only in the City area.The major axis of
    the City is aimed at the Face and the Citys symmetry axis is
    perpendicular to the Face.


    
This is the third peculiar object,it is in the entrance of the city if you
    approach it from the Face it resembels a fortress.We can see that it has
    straight walls and a tower pherhaps,and its innersapce is hollow.


   

This is the fourth object,closest to the face this is the largest pyramid it
    is 4 angeled and it raises as high as 1Km above surface and nearly 3Km
    in length.The pyramid also displays a domed uplift on its right
    side(pherhaps an entrance of some kind).The geometric regularity of the
    D&M Pyramid (named afetr Dipietro and Molenaar) togethr with its
    alignment with other enugmatic objects leads us to the point where no
    natural explanation can be given for its creation.


Well this is it,no more to add, I guess in this case for the first time in my
    researches that all the studies are based on a few frames of pictures and
    the pictures themselves are 100% authentic.
    When man will land on Mars I hope one the spots the astronauts are going
    to visit is Cydonia Mensae and thus give us a straight answer of what is up
    there,I will end with a quote from the War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
